Design review catches more, and imports skip data statements

NewImprovedFixed
Latest
  • Imports skip data statements. UPDATE, DELETE and TRUNCATE statements no longer stop an import. Like INSERT, they are skipped and listed with the other skipped statements. RENAME TABLE and DROP TABLE still stop it.
  • Four new design review issues. The Issues panel now flags a column that defaults to a zero date (Zero date default), ZEROFILL in MySQL 8.0 projects (ZEROFILL is deprecated), a foreign key that would set a NOT NULL column to NULL (SET NULL on a NOT NULL column), and TIMESTAMP columns the server will give extra attributes (Server adds TIMESTAMP attributes).
  • SET NULL on a NOT NULL column blocks publishing. The database rejects such a foreign key, so it now blocks publishing. The issue offers a fix — Allow NULL on the column, or change that action to RESTRICT — and Undo takes it back. An import with such a foreign key stops with a message that names the column.
  • Turn INVISIBLE on or off in Properties. A column's INVISIBLE option is now a toggle in the Properties panel. In MySQL 5.7 projects, which don't support it, the toggle is locked and says why.
  • TIMESTAMP columns match what your server creates. In MySQL 5.7 and MariaDB projects, importing or saving SQL now writes down the defaults those servers add to TIMESTAMP columns, including columns added or changed with ALTER TABLE.
  • ALTER TABLE gets the same version checks. Syntax your target version rejects, such as TIMESTAMP … DEFAULT NULL in MySQL 5.7, is now caught in ALTER TABLE statements too, not only in CREATE TABLE.
  • New columns and public links keep INVISIBLE and ZEROFILL. A new column created with either attribute used to lose it when saved, and public links didn't show them.
  • SERIAL columns import as NOT NULL. A SERIAL column with no NULL or NOT NULL now comes in as NOT NULL, the way the server creates it.
  • Menus and dialogs keep your input the first time they open. The Routing menu, the Group menu, delete confirmations and the phone command sheet could reset while opening for the first time — for example, the Line width field lost focus.
  • Guests open a workspace home without an access error. The workspace overview could fail for a guest on first load.
  • The editor opens with less code. Less code is downloaded before the editor first opens.
  • Moves in another tab cost less to follow. When someone moves a table, your open tab now reloads less of the project to show it.
